MODEL: TP-DCDC-2USB-24
The TP-DCDC-2USB-24 Passive Power Over Ethernet Power Source, offered by Tycon Power®, is a unique 24VDC Passive PoE injector that is powered by two USB ports. This device works by supplying power to a remote device through the unused Ethernet pins 4,5 (+) and 7,8 (-). The Ethernet specification supports distances up to 100 meters (328 feet), making it ideal for flexible, long-distance power delivery.
Equipped with built-in protection features, the TP-DCDC-2USB-24 guards against short circuits, overloads, and overvoltage, ensuring the safety and longevity of your connected devices. The unit provides an output power of up to 12W, though this is dependent on the USB port capacity. USB 2.0 ports supply 0.5A, while USB 3.0 ports offer 0.9A. Newer USB ports can provide up to 1.5A, enabling higher power output for more demanding applications.
This USB-powered PoE injector is an essential tool for any technician’s toolkit, especially for those working with Ubiquiti, Mikrotik, and other 24VDC Passive PoE devices. It allows technicians to quickly test devices by connecting directly to a laptop’s USB port, saving valuable time and eliminating the need for separate power sources.
Additionally, the TP-DCDC-2USB-24 is an excellent solution for customer premise equipment. It allows you to power external wireless gear from a customer’s computer USB ports, reducing wiring clutter at the PC. This setup also enables the wireless devices to be powered down when the computer is turned off, offering energy-saving benefits.
